PHOTO CONTEST
DIVISIONS:
1. Photography—Adult (age 18 and over as of September 1, 2011)
2. Photography—Youth (age17 and younger as of September 1, 2011)
3. Photography—Our Local Heritage. This class is for the display of old photographs only, are not judged, and need not be taken by the exhibitor. This class is designed to show off our local heritage...Randolph County as it was in the past. Please note on a 3x5 card any information about the photo. There is no minimum print size for this class, you may display more than one entry and there is no entry fee. All photos must be ready for hanging.
CATEGORIES:
1. Black & White - Prints of any subject
2. Nature - Color prints of foliage, flowers, landscapes, etc.
3. Animals - Color prints of domestic, farm or wild animals
4. Agriculture - Color prints depicting scenes of farm life
5. People - Color prints of people, posed or candid, at work or play
6. Industry - Railroad - Color prints of trains (steam or diesel) or railroad scenes
7. Industry - Coal - Color prints depicting scenes of the coal industry
8. Industry - Timber - Color prints depicting scenes of the timber or logging industry
AWARDS: Cash prizes and ribbons will be awarded to the Best of Show, Queen’s Choice, People’s Choice, Best 4-H, 1st Place, 2nd Place, and 3rd Place. Ribbons will be awarded to Honorable Mention. Gift certificates will also be awarded.
AGREEMENT: Entries will be handled with care, however, the RCFC, its volunteers or persons involved with aiding in the exhibit, will not be responsible for loss or damage.
ENTRY FEE: (Non-refundable)$3.00 per print. Make checks payable to “Randolph County Fair”.
ENTRY GUIDELINES:
1. A maximum of six prints may be submitted per person. Photographs must be original works of the entrant. Contest open any WV amateur photographers of all ages.
2. Print size must be 5x7 or 8x10, matted or mounted and ready to hang. No frames please!
3. Exhibitor’s name, address, phone, entry (ex. 1of6), category, and title must be written on the back of each exhibit.
4. Entry form must be completed and submitted with photos, with proper entry fee.
5. Entries will be accepted on September 14 between 3:30-7:00 pm at Camp Pioneer. Entries may also be dropped off at Foto 1 Pro Photo, Talbott Frame Shop or the WVU Extension Office in Elkins by September 12.
6. Entries will be judged and will be on display on September 17-18 in the Ag Complex Building behind the barn.
7. Entries must be removed on September 18 between 3-5 pm. Entries not picked up during this time will be taken to the original drop point or the Extension Office at 32 Randolph Ave, Suite 102, in Elkins.
8. All work to be returned by mail must include sufficient postage and suitable container, preaddressed for return shipping.
